Wycombe Abbey Changzhou IGCSE pupils have broken records in 2019. With the School and pupils celebrating a 17% increase in the number of A*- A awarded. Making the GCSE results of 2019 our best on record, and simply outstanding for our pupils. “Seeing the pupils’ achievements is wonderful and sharing in their successes today, alongside parents, a joy” said Mr Thomas Lane, Head of Year 11.

The IGCSE Exams are graded using the 9-1 system. This year our pupils achieved 78 level 9’s, which is the equivalent to an A** grade and is awarded to only the top 5% of pupils worldwide. This achievement, coupled with 89% of grades being marked at 9-4 (A*- C equivalent), has resulted in our School raising the number of pass grades by 12% from those results achieved in 2018.

An impressive number of Wycombe Abbey pupils scored 9-7 (A*- A equivalent) in all subjects. With A. Song gaining 7 A*s in total. She said “I am really pleased with my results today. I am thankful for all the help I received from my teachers, tutor and Housemistress. I am looking forward to starting Sixth form life in September.”

David Griffiths the Headmaster said “Our warmest congratulations go to all pupils who have embraced the challenges and targets set by their Housemaster and Teachers. As our Year 13 depart to some of the leading Universities in the world. I am sure that our current pupils entering Sixth form with these outstanding grades across a range of subjects, will aspire to maintain our tradition of excellence.”
