威雅公学夏校——剑桥主题周

本周，两位毕业于剑桥大学的企业家来到常州威雅公学，为夏校学生分享他们在剑桥的学习经历以及在剑桥大学毕业后成为企业家的经历。
Charlotte Roach（2011年毕业于剑桥大学三一学院，自然科学专业）和她的公司Join the Rabble已经在包括BBC和《卫报》在内的好几家英国全国性刊物上发表了专题文章，介绍她的革新型公司，以及她有趣而多样的人生故事。2009年至2010年，Charlotte从剑桥大学休学，跟随英国铁人三项队在拉夫堡进行训练。Charlotte为参加英国队的比赛做了几个月的艰苦准备，在一次自行车比赛中，她被一辆汽车撞伤，生命垂危。在康复后，她也不能继续参加铁人三项比赛了，后又回到剑桥继续学业，最终她从著名的剑桥大学三一学院毕业并获得了自然科学学位，然后开始创业，创办了Join the Rabble。她的公司在全英国以及澳大利亚都取得了令人难以置信的成功，并赢得了创新奖和卓越奖，我们很荣幸能够邀请到Charlotte来到威雅公学夏校分享她的人生哲学和故事。
Heather Shakerchi毕业于剑桥大学，获得了经济学学位。后来进入摩根士丹利的投资银行部门，在债务资本市场团队工作。在对英国大型企业进行了两年的跟踪调查后，她被升任到管理部门，直接为资本市场部门的首席运营官(COO)工作。在获得奖学金后，Heather决定去伦敦商学院(London Business School)攻读MBA。她在攻读MBA期间一直都在优等生名录中，并以班级前10%的成绩毕业。在伦敦商学院期间，Heather分别在艾派迪(Expedia)和乐施会(Oxfam)的数据分析团队、慈善团队和合作伙伴团队中工作，接触了金融行业以外的公司。Heather十分热爱这样的工作经历，并对进入初创企业的世界感到非常兴奋，她在Rabble公司担任运营主管，与Charlotte和团队其他成员一起工作。

This week two Cambridge Graduates and Entrepreneurs travelled to WAISCZ to share their experiences of life in Cambridge and life as entrepreneurs after Cambridge at the Summer School.
Charlotte Roach (Natural Sciences, Trinity, 2011) and her company Join the Rabble have been featured in several UK national publications including the BBC and The Guardian for her innovative company and for her interesting and varied life story. Taking a break from Cambridge during 2009-10, Charlotte trained with the Great Britain Triathlon squad in Loughborough. On a cycle ride several months into her grueling preparation for team GB, Charlotte was struck by a car and left in a life-threatening condition. After he recovery she was no longer able to be part of the triathlon squad, so returning to Cambridge, she completed her degree in Natural Sciences from the prestigious Trinity College, University of Cambridge, before starting her business, Join the Rabble. Her company has been incredibly successful opening branches across the UK and as far afield as Australia. The company has won awards for innovation and excellence and we are proud to have Charlotte over to share her philosophy and her story with our Summer School.
Heather Shakerchi graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Economics and moved to Morgan Stanley's Investment Banking division where she worked in the Debt Capital Markets team. After spending two years covering large UK corporates she was promoted into the management function, working directly for the Capital Market division's COO. After being awarded a scholarship, Heather decided to undertake an MBA at London Business School, where she was a Dean's List student, graduating in the top 10% of her class. During her time at LBS, Heather spent time at Expedia and Oxfam in the data analytics and philanthropy and partnerships teams respectively, gaining exposure to companies outside the financial sector. Loving this experience and excited to move into the world of start-ups, Heather took up the position of Head of Operations at Rabble, working alongside Charlotte and the rest of the team.
The shared experiences will, we are sure, prove inspirational to the pupils and help them discover the huge range of opportunities available to graduates of the world’s top universities.
