Introduction of the course
桥牌起源于欧洲，发展于美国，流行于全世界。桥牌是一项以扑克牌为工具的较量智力的世界性体育运动，与网球、钓鱼、高尔夫一起，并称为四大高雅运动。桥牌要求同伴之间相互配合、共同作战，能发扬紧密协作、团结一致的精神。打桥牌需要运用数学、信息学、逻辑学、心理学、运筹学、时空概念的知识，并发挥个人的智慧与技巧，对牌的分配和位置作出估计；同时桥牌崇尚公平、公开、公正的体育精神。通过学习同时可以增强独立思考、独立工作的能力，迄今为止，桥牌运动是全世界唯一具有统一比赛规则的扑克牌游戏。
Bridge originated in Europe and was developed in the United States. It is very popular and is played all around the world. Bridge competes with poker, tennis, fishing and golf. These sports are known as the four elegant sports. Bridge is a sport that requires teamwork and co-operation, thus promoting unity amongst its players. Playing bridge requires different skills such as mathematics, logical thinking and psychology. The players need to anticipate the cards and these skills will help them to achieve that. At the same time, bridge promotes the spirit of fair play. The game creates an environment for players to think independently and work independently. Bridge is the only card game with uniformed rules in the world.

桥牌协会会员，八十年代开始学习桥牌，在老师的帮助和自己的努力下进步飞快，多次参加省市比赛并获奖，九二年“全国少数民族杯”荣获第二名的好成绩。曹老师教学经验丰富趣味性强，擅长针对不同学员因材施教，注重学员的基本功训练，讲课深入浅出，很受广大学员及家长推崇好评，是一位长期活跃在第一线的优秀教师。
In the 1980’s Cao Yun began to learn bridge. He excelled at the game due to his hard work. He participated in many provincial and municipal competitions and won numerous events. His greatest achievement was in 1992 when he came second in the National Minority Cup. He has vast teaching experience and makes his classes very active and interesting. He is able to teach students at all levels of the game. His lessons are easy to understand and very knowledgeable. He is very passionate and many of his students would testify to this fact.

Students will be learning bridge for the first time. They need to pay special attention during this period as they will learn all the fundamental skills of the game.
