在这金秋送爽，预示收获的季节里，我们即将迎来祖国母亲71周年华诞。2020年9月25号的下午，上海星河湾双语学校5-9年级“我在国旗下成长——致敬祖国”主题升旗仪式正式拉开序幕。

升旗仪式在出旗、升旗和奏唱国歌的庄重仪式中开始了。随后，来自6和8年级的学生代表们分别上台带来精彩发言。

首先发言的是来自6（1）班的吴桐同学，他发言的题目是《我眼中的祖国》。吴同学认为，爱国并非遥不可及，在我们的日常生活中处处都有它的身影。祖国河山的博大美丽、各有千秋无不令人震撼；中华文明悠久璀璨的文化无不令我们心生自豪。在新冠疫情到来时，中国率先恢复经济，取得的成就令世界惊叹，体现出国家的力量、自立。同学们也应不负韶华，砥砺前行。

紧接着，来自8年级的张书嘉同学带来了《我和祖国共同成长》为题的演讲。正如张同学所说，在爷爷奶奶的年代，物质条件并不富裕，他们用自己的双手，从艰苦的岁月里一步步走出；爸爸妈妈的年代是改革的时代，人民的思想越来越开放，生活也越来越舒适。而我们，我们见证了中华民族的历史，见证了中国逐渐成为世界第二大经济体的过程。张书嘉同学认为，我们生在一个最好的时代，有选择的权利，有开放的平台；可这也是最坏的时代，数据不断冲击当今世界，科技发展越来越快。作为学生，我们要抓住时代带给我们的机遇，实现自我，超越自我。

两位同学的发言都使台下同学们有所感悟，随后，星校党总支书记胡书记也为大家送上了国庆寄语。今年的7月1日是建党99周年，9月3日是中国人民抗日战争胜利75周年，10月1日是建国71周年，这些峥嵘岁月，无不体现出祖国母亲的力量。胡书记认为，在当今社会，创新有着非常突出的位置。她鼓励学生们勇于提出问题，以严谨与踏实的态度解决问题。胡书记用钱学森和爱因斯坦的故事告诉我们，大大小小的问题，都由态度决定品质、结果。我们应怀着爱国热情与创新精神，埋头努力，成为国家之栋梁。

随着主持人话音落下，本次升旗仪式顺利结束。这次升旗仪式让同学们明白——我们面对困难时要坚韧，能够吃苦，以不断拼搏向前、奋勇搏击的姿态接过强盛祖国发展的接力棒。我们应以崭新的面貌迎接接下来的学习生活，有所付出，有所收获，有所成长。

After the phrasal success of fighting against COVID-19, students are back to school with passion in bright autumn. In two days, we will celebrate our 71st National Day of the People’s Republic of China. When Chinese watch the rise of China, we are all proud of our motherland than any time before. When we see the shining stars on the National Flag, we learn more about patriotism.

Patriotism means, not only to embrace the Communist Party of China, but also to become good citizens of China.

Nowadays, we live in a more prosperous, assertive, democratic China than anytime it was in history. She has been fought by generation after generation. Students should also work hard to be a qualified new generation to construct socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Grade 6 class 1 student, Wu Tong, gave his view about being patriotic. His speech claimed that patriotism, rather than being far away from our life, is actually closely connected to everyone. The presenter was obsessed with the history of China, as well as the industrious and smart ancestors. The speaker inspired us to embrace China and to work hard for a better tomorrow.

Grade 8 class 1 student, Zhang Shujia, claimed that families formed country and country raised families. In 1949, the People's Republic was just founded. The society and the economy were unstable. With the deepening of reform and opening-up, China has become the world's second-largest economy entity. The great success of China has manifested her change. We should adopt it, instead of refusing it. Our change will affect the development of China in one way or another.

Ms. Hu, the secretary of CPC General Branch, messaged that bearing a sense of patriotism is an essential property for students, as well as a fundamental property of a student. In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, creativity is another important skill that students should have. Ms. Hu used an example from the guider of Chinese missiles, Qian Xuesen. Qian Xuesen has studied in America about systems engineering. When he finished his essay, he wrote “Final” on it. However, Qian Xuesen realized that scientific study never ends. So he wrote another short phrase besides “Final”, “Nothing is final”. Ms. Hu suggested that we should have this spirit in our study as well, in order to become a student that might shape the future of China.

In the end, the school believes that students, as a new generation of China, should study hard. We shall not wait but work for the Chinese Dream right away. Inherit Chinese characteristic and goods, fight for the development of China and be ready all the time!
