This week, Dame Cilla Snowball, Chair of the GREAT Private Sector Council, UK said “We need to make sure girls have access to business leaders in schools.” Wycombe Abbey is committed to ensuring all our pupils have access to events such as this to guarantee success in their current studies, university studies, and future fields.
To that end, last week, our Sixth Form Lecture series started with a visit from two entrepreneurial business leaders from the UK.
Emma Fairclough, supported by Zoe Richards, has been responsible for starting and growing four successful companies in the UK. Their lecture focused on how to be a successful entrepreneur, and the business lessons they have learned through their companies’ growth and success.
The lecture was followed by a discussion where our Sixth Form pupils, were able to ask questions and apply their A Level business knowledge to real-world business topics. Events such as this are vital for pupils to succeed in the radically changing world we inhabit. The inaugural presentation was a fantastic beginning to our 2019-20 Sixth Form Lecture Series, and perfectly fulfilled the series’ mission of challenging and developing our senior pupil’s understanding of the world around them.
